Five years old!

Thank you from Rhiannon

I am finally writing to thank you all for the wonderful cards and presents which were delivered here in time for my fifth birthday! A big girl now, who knows her own mind! Isn’t it amazing that despite the numerous cards which are opened, there are never two the same? I had loads of presents and money, for which I thank you for your kind contribution. A beautiful Cinderella dress, so that I look like the princess that daddy thinks I am; lots of wonderful books to read now that I know quite a selection of words (although it's still good to have a story read to me); a hundred piece jigsaw of Great Britain which I completed with no help at all (apart from mummy telling me to lay out all the edge pieces first!); a study for my dolls house; colouring and craft sets which are just what I love doing best. I’m very good at drawing and making things and I have always got something to do!

As my birthday was on a Monday we just had a quiet family meal (fish and chips—yum!) and mummy arranged a party for the following weekend! She kept muttering that she must be mad, but we’re not sure why? Sixteen children must be a doddle after a class of thirty-six!

Anyway Saturday came along with all my friends and cousins. Mummy was very organised and had all the party games ready; ‘Pin the nose on the clown’, ‘Pass the parcel with consequences’, ‘Musical statues’, ‘Balloon Forfeits’ and a ‘Dressing Up Game’; and with some help from Daddy who really enjoyed the afternoon we had a great time. Don’t forget the party food and fizzy jelly (black-currant made with coco-cola!)

Daddy was very helpful and made the birthday cakes on Friday, and even decorated them, which mummy hadn’t wanted him to do!! Anyway mummy redecorated them with my favourites—strawberries! They were delicious!

When all my friends had gone (after three hours!) Uncle Philip, Aunty Kathy, Nanny and Grandad came for tea—well left overs really! There wasn’t much left once they'd got stuck in!

I had a wonderful birthday and mummy can’t believe that I’m five already—it’s another of her, where have all the years gone! Any way many, many thanks to all of you, a big kiss and cuddle.

With love,

An early break in St Malo

We decided this year to have a break at the February half-term and for the first time ever our half-term coincided with a ferry direct to St. Malo, where we stayed with Corrine.  A welcome break and an exciting chance for Helen to go flying with Matthew over France.

Kelsea

Ray has enjoyed the opportunity to get out on the boat this year, making sure that Kelsea went in the water as soon as the weather was fine enough.  We have all ventured up river during half-term and Ray has even slept out on her overnight!  Having bought a new outboard, she is much more reliable and quieter.  We hope to get out during the summer holiday as we don't expect to go away this year.
